PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Access to Language Studies is pleased to introduce Language Plus AI, a new July 2027 summer program at St. John’s University in New York for international students ages 14 to 18. This two-week program combines morning English as a Second Language instruction with an afternoon Artificial Intelligence workshop, helping students strengthen their English communication skills while learning to use modern AI tools effectively, creatively, and responsibly. The AI Workshop will be led by St. John’s University professors.

AI Workshop Highlights
Students will explore tools such as Suno, Claude, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Canva, Adobe Firefly, and CapCut, or similar programs. They will practice using AI to communicate in another language, prepare presentations, develop prompts, create music and videos, streamline routine tasks, and understand the ethical responsibilities of AI use.
Outside the classroom, students will enjoy daily evening activities and weekend field trips to attractions and points of interest throughout New York City.

NEW YORK CITY
New York City is in reality a collection of many neighborhoods scattered among the city’s five boroughs, Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. While Manhattan and Staten Island are islands, Brooklyn and Queens are geographically part of Long Island, and the Bronx is attached to the US mainland. The islands are linked by bridges, tunnels, and ferries.
For the past two centuries, New York has been the largest and wealthiest American city. It’s an architectural marvel with many historic monuments, impressive buildings, and countless magnificent skyscrapers. Besides the architectural delights, New York is an urban jungle that has everything to offer to visitors. The city is home to numerous museums, parks, trendy neighborhoods, and shopping streets. It’s the most ethnically diverse, religiously varied, commercially driven, famously congested, and the most attractive urban center in the USA. New York has more Jews than Tel Aviv, more Irish than Dublin, more Italians than Naples, and more Puerto Ricans than San Juan.
ST. JOHN’S UNIVERSITY
Our New York City summer program is hosted at St. John’s University during the months of July and August. Founded in 1870, St. John’s is a Catholic and Vincentian university. Its campus encompasses over 100 acres located in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood in one of the five boroughs that make up New York City. The University lies within easy reach of Manhattan, accessible by all public transportation, allowing our students access to the vast cultural, educational, and commercial resources this magnificent city has to offer. St. John’s campus features broad lawns, handsome stone buildings and ultramodern student residence halls. Facilities include high-tech laboratory and classroom buildings, and state-of-the-art facilities for students.
RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION
Our dorms at St. John’s are typically suite style apartments with triple, double and single occupancy. There is 24/7 security, washers & dryers, microwaves, apartment refrigerators, as well as free Wi-Fi. Our students enjoy many dining and catering options at the recently renovated Dining Hall. Meal plans include all-you-can-eat buffet style dining.
ACTIVITIES
Our students will discover New York City through daily afternoon and evening field trips to historical and cultural places of interest. Our staff will organize and supervise each group tour, so you can experience NYC culture and lifestyle. Field trips may include:
