Have you ever been in a situation where you need to order your favorite food in English but just could not remember the word for it? Sometimes the toughest part of learning a new language is just remembering all of the words you need to know. You can be an expert in sentence structure and know the ins and outs of the language, but if you cannot memorize the vocabulary it is not very useful.
We at Access to Language Studies are dedicated to helping you master the English language. We have compiled a small list of tips and tricks to help you to memorize the words you may be struggling with.
- Take Notes: The best-proven way to memorize words is by writing them down with a pen and paper. The act of writing down a word or phrase helps the brain to better learn and remember. Try repeatedly writing down the words for greater success.
- Make a Jingle: Don’t you just hate it when a song gets stuck in your head and you can’t seem to get it out no matter how hard you try? Why not try taking advantage of that and use it to help you study English. Come up with a little song or jingle for a word you are trying to memorize and sing it enough times to where it will get stuck in your head.
- Practice Makes Perfect: We’re sure you have heard this phrase a million times before, but it’s true. The only way to truly master English is to practice. Going out into real-life situations where you get to put your English to the test is the best way to learn. Don’t be afraid to mess up either. Learning a new language is not easy. Practice is the only way to learn and perfect your speech.
